Document Controller

Sweeny&Co is a pre-imminent design firm founded in 1988 and currently operates with close to 60 talented, passionate employees some of which work at 134 Peter Street and many at home. We are a family focused company and we enjoy collaborating to bring better buildings to our client’s and to our community. We have an immediate opportunity available for a Document Controller to join our Contract Administration Team immediately and who will be responsible for organizing, controlling, filing, maintaining, sorting, internal distribution and retrieval of electronically stored or hard copy documentation in a timely, and efficient manner.

Skills/Qualifications:

- Track, transmit, and accurately file paper and electronic engineering documents, drawings, internal and external correspondence

- Manage technical and non-technical documentation and records

- Respond to internal & external documentation requests - act as point of contact for all documentation activities within the Team

- Transfer project documentation using client systems – including FieldWire, ProCore, etc., as required

- Prepare project specific documentation, liaise with the project team to determine relevant document cycle

- Perform routine clerical tasks including data entry, scanning, distributing, preparing documents for issue

- Correctly file documentation and prepare it for record archiving as needed

- Maintain current security clearances and credentials as required

- Support continuous improvement of Document Control system procedures and processes

Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:

- Diploma or degree in technical field preferred such as architecture, engineering, or construction management

- 0-2 years related experience, working with technical drawings and related documentation and bringing understanding of same

- Possess strong written and oral communications skills

- Flexibility to changing priorities, deadlines and job assignments

- Identify and resolve problems within area of responsibility without specific direction

- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment

- Possess effective time management skills

- Detail-oriented, dependable, able to achieve GOC Security Clearance

- Strong computer skills – proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam; Procore would be of benefit

- Able to work 37.5 hours per week during normal business hours
