GeoCentral is a 343-suite private student residence serving Queen's University, and Kingston's first residential building powered by geothermal energy. Designed to meet growing campus demand, it pairs a high-performance building envelope with modern amenities.
GeoCentral, completed in 2025, is designed to foster community amongst students and animate arterial Princess Street with new commercial storefronts. The project also enhances the surrounding community with a new public park on the Southeast corner of the site, alongside the 10,000 sf of new commercial space with 5 retail units and a 12,500 sf fitness centre open to the public. The amenities in the building respond to the contemporary needs of students, with flexible shared spaces throughout that can be used for co-working, as well as party rooms, and lounge areas. The suite mix spans studios through four-bedroom configurations, accommodating a range of student lifestyles. Each suite features abundant natural light, modern finishes, and thoughtfully proportioned floor plans designed to maximize space, durability, and quality of life. A large residential lobby and atrium connect with the street level café space, offering an additional gathering area for tenants. The landscaped rooftop deck features sports equipment, pergolas, dining areas, and lounges for tenant recreation.
