Project

RBC Centre

RBC Centre
The 1.2 million square foot building represents both design elegance and visionary innovation, incorporating a wide range of technologies that dramatically reduce operating costs and environmental impact including a green roof amenity, flexible raised floor infrastructure, computer-controlled solar shading, sun-sensor controlled lighting and materials carefully chosen for quality and durability.

Canada's first LEED® Gold certified office tower.

RBC Centre offers a new flexible workspace that is more comfortable, embraces a commitment to environmental sustainability, is much more flexible and offers tenants lower costs for fit-out, IT installations and systems furniture (no cable management), with overall energy and operating cost savings. The first of the new office towers to invigorate Toronto's core in recent years, RBC Centre has transformed Wellington Street, west of University Avenue, to a vibrant and dynamic street. Careful planning of the RBC Centre’s architecture has provided an important edge to the large public plaza of Metro Hall to the north.

RBC and RBC Dexia, lead tenants of the building, required a design that supported their corporate objectives of economic, social and environmental sustainability while reflecting the stature of the Royal Bank of Canada, the country’s largest banking institution. Working together with the developer Cadillac Fairview and the tenants, a vision of a superior workplace to dramatically improve occupant comfort, space planning flexibility, and higher environmental sustainability standards was developed within the market-driven context of commercial real estate in Canada’s first LEED NC Gold office tower.
